News stories, encyclopedias, books, and journal articles will be useful in your research.

News: You may want to search the Boston papers for articles. You could try the Massachusetts Newstand as well as the Bay State Banner. Roxbury, Roxbury Crossing and Mission Hill blogs and neighborhood groups may also be a good source. One such group is Discover Roxbury. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call the Bay State Banner or Discover Roxbury.

Historical Agencies:  Boston Landmarks Commission has to say about Roxbury or contact them directly.

Encyclopedias: Enter the word stereotyping in Credo Reference.

Books: Search the library catalog for in-depth books about Roxbury. You don't have to limit the books to the Wentworth collection. We can get others for you via interlibrary loan.

Journal articles: Try Academic Search Premier first. If you need an article in full text, and don't see it in our collection after clicking the sfx or find full text link, try ordering it through interlibrary loan. It's easy! The title and author and publication information are saved automatically and all you need to enter is your email and name.
