There are books, encyclopedias, and scholarly articles you can find from the library website.

First, let's look for a book in the library catalog. Enter the term Le Corbusier in the library catalog search box.

  • When you see a title that looks good, click on it and look at the Holdings information.
  • The location of the book will give you the call number. Jot this down along with a title.
  • Check if the status says available. That means it should be on the shelf at Wentworth.

Once you find one or two call numbers, head upstairs to find the number. Any books you find in the stacks can be checked out. There are also books about Le Corbusier at the Reserve Desk under your course number. Books on reserve will have to be used in the library.

Next, try to get background information from an encyclopedia. From the library website, select the yellow tab "Research by Subject."

  • Choose Art, Architecture, and Design
  • Look at the core resources in the middle of the page
  • Select Oxford Art Online
  • Check of the box search Grove Art only. This box is in the upper right hand corner.
  • Enter the term Le Corbusier
  • You will be directed to a biographical entry with illustrations of major works
  • Also, there is a bibliography of additional sources at the very end of the artice
  • Don't forget to cite the article by choosing the cite button to the right of the article.

Finally, try JSTOR for a scholarly journal article. All JSTOR articles are available in full text.

Again, from the Alumni Library home home page, select the yellow tab Research by Subject.

  • Choose Art, Architecture, and Design
  • Look at the core resources in the middle of the page
  • Select JSTOR
  • Enter the term Le Corbusier
  • Narrow by discipline by checking off the box for Architecture and Architectural History
  • Search
  • Don't forget to view the citation and save it for your bibliography.
