We have two databases, JSTOR, and Art Index Retrospective that have articles on your subject. Here’s how to search them:

 1.

Go to the Alumni Library website

Click on “Research by Subject” tab

Choose “All databases A-Z”

Select JSTOR

 

Enter the search term “William Alexander Coulter” and be sure to use quotation marks. Hit search.

The 2nd  story on California’s Silver Era includes information on your subject. You can read it in full text.

Go to the Alumni Library website

Click on “Research by Subject” tab

Choose “All databases A-Z”

Select Art Index Retrospective

Enter the search term William Alexander Coulter. Do not use quotation marks.

You will see three articles from Magazine Antiques. You will have to follow directions to have these articles emailed to you via interlibrary loan. It should take a few days.

 

3.

Go to Google to search document on the web by adding pdf to search

Enter the term William Alexander Coulter pdf. You don’t need quotations.

Examine the results. Because you placed the words pdf after the name you will get more in depth results. Take a look at the one from The Maritime Heritage Project and a few others.
